Hi All,
Newby here to both the Forum and Hodgkin's...
I was diagnosed Friday 26th March and am waiting my first appointment to tell me just how far along the road I am. Sheeeeeeeeesh that sounds like I'm pregnant lol
I just turned 40 and on top of this my B-Cell count is 42% and T-Cell 58% so I'm a bit of an all round mutt by the sounds...
I was introduced to this forum by a good friend of mine and have been busy reading since and have given myself a crash course in all things Hodgkin's thanx to here, The Leukaemia Foundation and Google and now have a fairly basic understanding of what's going on inside my body.
I guess for me the diagnosis was in some ways a relief in that I wasn't "imagining" the things that didn't seem quite right within myself and shock because while I knew there was something wrong I never imagined that cancer was involved. Especially since my father is also battling cancer (Adenocarcinoma) obviously a different and much more aggressive type but still a cancer that has attacked his lymph nodes amongst other places... This led to a fair amount of stress because mine were swollen for quite some time without abating and the Docs had told me I just had a bad flu and not to worry.
Anyways that's a little about me. I'd like to thank everyone here for your open comments about yourselves and the invaluable first hand experiences you have written about.
Regards
Anthony aka Googs
