Hi Barbara,
you are so lucky to be able to have the blood test instead of bone marrows. I have heard of a couple of the others having the blood tests instead. Hope everything is going well for you and congrats the maintenence is almost over!

Hi Joyhoney

I missed one of your previous questions re Bone Marrow Aspirates-I get one every 3 months so maybe only 6 to go.
I alway request the same guy to do mine and go jogging the next day.
I googled the treated pine ...and info there suggested that major concern was when it was wet during application and also during construction dust coul be a concern. I guess that over in WA all the playground equipment built of treated pine was removed some years ago and treated pine in the vineyards is seen as a no-no. It amy have been your trigger? but does not effect others. Now I am aware of your concerns I will always wear a particle mask and disposable gloves when using treated pine.
Interesting viewing others side effects of maintenance drugs. I do experience some bloating, mild headache like a bit off pressure and I still have tingling sensation in my left arm and leg which is supposed to be nerve endings sorting themselves out. All very bearable compared to previous.
As I am only a year since diagnosis it has been fantastic to know that you are some 8yrs and going forward.Thanks.

Hi Dean,
are you still doing research on leukaemia? I have been researching it alot in the past few days and come upon some really interesting stuff. Did you have any exposure to nitrous oxide? I specifically remember having this in hospital before getting leukaemia and have since learned if you have a b12 deficiency only one dose is needed to effect the bone marrow! It may not have been the cause but it could have been the beginning. You might want to find out a bit about your parents blood too. I've since found out my mother tended toward anaemia and bleeding. There does seem to be a link too between zinc/copper either high or low in our blood and leukaemia.

Cheers

Hi Joyhoney

My research has backed off a little, however still keen to check out any leads.
I did not have any exposure to Nitrous Oxide although probably a few chemicals at work.

I have been thinking of lack of Vitamin A, but this thought is due to Attra being given which I understand is derived from vitamin A. So try to include heaps of carrot, pumpkin and rockmelon. Not sure if I understand fully but it certainly can't be bad for you.

Will check with parents but nothing comes to mind.

If it is ok I might send you an email as I saw you were chasing side effects on another posting and spotted your email address. I have kept a diary as was recomended by one of the nurses treating me during Induction.
